SUMMARY:Oxhey Sounds\, Watford with London Tango Quintet
DESCRIPTION:The London Tango Quintet\, five acclaimed musicians drawn together by a love of tango.  Each of the musicians has their own career whether as soloist\, chamber musician\, session player\, composer etc. and their list of credits reads like a who’s who of music in the UK today.  The quintet regularly plays leading festivals in the UK and their album Dancing with Piazzolla\, recorded in Harrow and released in 2024\, was BBC Radio 3’s album of the week. But it is the level of empathy\, listening and sheer joy in each other’s playing that marks out this group as something special – as well as the huge variety of sound and dynamic that they conjure.  Their repertoire centres around the music of tango giants Piazzolla\, Salgán\, Pugliese\, Gardel and others. This concert will also feature the brilliant singer Carmen Subiela who is coming over from France to join the quintet.
