World renowned guitar virtuoso Craig Ogden performs an eclectic solo programme including works by Astor Piazzolla, jazz legends Django Reinhardt and George Shearing as well as music by Marais – a court musician at Versailles and Francis Poulenc’s meditative Sarabande written in 1969 and dedicated to the renowned classical guitarist Ida Presti.

Five internationally acclaimed musicians come together as the London Tango Quintet performing music by the legendary Astor Piazzolla interspersed with stunning instrumental solos.

In 1921 a tango scene in Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse propelled a young Rudolf Valentino to global stardom. Ever since, film makers have used the dance to express the tensions, hidden desires and threats of violence between their characters. The London Tango Quintet’s programme features tangos from the silver screen with Piazzolla’s Libertango and Oblivion and the golden era classics, La cumparsita and Por una cabeza.

Chart topping guitar virtuoso, Craig Ogden and founder of the Quintet, violinist David Juritz are returning to Holy Cross following their acclaimed performance for Music in Country Churches last July.
