Come and share the passion of tango with these five acclaimed musicians. Formed by David Juritz, this exceptional quintet was drawn together through their love of tango. He said, ‘It’s fantastic fun, even wild at times, but that’s not to say it isn’t challenging as well. To do it justice you have to approach it just as you would any other great music – with a sense of style and your total commitment, but also leaving enough freedom to experiment. When it happens, you feel like you’ve been set free. It’s just exhilarating’. This evening includes music by Astor Piazzolla, whose work revolutionised traditional tango music, incorporating jazz and classical music elements. The programme includes Oblivion, Libertango and Muerte del Ángel.

Perfection. Such passion and attack and expression and feeling.  It is a long time since I have had such a musical feast.  It is still singing in my head. Amazing.’

Music at Stow, Stow-on-the-Wold, Cotswolds with the London Tango Quintet

Music at Stow in its current format, was established in 2014 when a group of music-loving locals got together with the aim of ‘bringing big names to a small town’. The setting, in the picturesque Cotswolds landscape of the Gloucestershire countryside, lends a perfect backdrop to a festival which brings world-class artists right into the heart of the local community.

The London Tango Quintet is a unique group of five internationally acclaimed musicians performing tango music at the highest level.

Music by the legendary Argentinian composer Astor Piazzolla is interspersed with stunning instrumental solos. The result is an energetic, inspiring and thoroughly enjoyable evening of relaxed virtuosity.
