Canterbury Music Club was established in 1941 to bring top quality musicians and music to the people of Canterbury in their darkest hour. This tradition continues to this day, when we welcome some of the finest classical chamber musicians in the country who have performed for us in the past three seasons such as the Baroque violinist Rachel Podger, new established artists to the Club such as Craig Ogden, classical guitar, along with some of the top new generation of artists such as Ewan Millar, oboe and the Kyan String Quartet.

Craig has carved out a career as one of the most versatile guitarists on the planet: playing recitals, concertos, commissioning new works – and he’s the most sought-after guitarist for chamber music in the UK.
Cited by BBC Music Magazine as: “A worthy successor to Julian Bream”, his discography includes an album of 20th-century classics by British composers previously played by Julian Bream that was nominated for a Grammy Award; six albums that have reached number-one on the UK Classical charts, and a recording of Rodrigo’s guitar concertos that received the ultimate accolade from the composer’s daughter: “This recording has confirmed your position among the greatest guitarists.”
Craig will be available after the concert to talk to the audience and sign copies of his CDs.
